Introduction Courses
What we offer:
Prospective students are given a number of options.
The first is to observe a class in action to decide whether it is what he
or she expects. They may decide to join or not anytime during the following
week.
For those who wish to try it out, we offer a free taster lesson (please contact
us beforehand for this option), after which the prospective student may
decide to join.
We run a five
week introduction course in either Tai Chi or Kung Fu in the style of your choice for
one hour a week. The course includes meeting the instructors and pupils,
observing classes
in action to give you a good idea of our
training. Instruction includes a basic Chi Kung set which is used as the classes
warm up exercise and tutoring in the first few movements of your chosen
discipline. Tutoring is given by an instructor on a personal one-to-one or
one-to-small group level. Following the course the student is expected to
decide on joining as a full member. Look out for course announcements on
our news page
or contact us
to see if a course is available.
As a full member you may train at most if not all of classes in the
area. The number of classes open to
beginners and days on which they occur varies according to the region,
instructor and location availability, but we aim to provide at least two to
three beginners session per week. This is usually more than enough for
those starting out and allows time for classes for those more experienced
students to train in more advanced practice and methods.
Please note that the martial arts we teach take years
to learn: The taster courses / lessons are for those who are considering
undertaking training with us over the long term. Please understand that due
to pressure on class sizes we are unable to offer training for those only
looking for a short period of membership.

"The Way is absolute and undefined.
Like natural uncarved wood in simplicity, even though it is insignificant,
none in the world can overcome it. If leaders would hold to it, the whole
world would serve them spontaneously." - Lao zu
